Public school teachers are under appreciated considering they are entrusted with the sculpting of young minds. They work tirelessly with shoestring budgets and little structured support, and have pulled off countless miracles in shaping our collective future! May all of us never stop learning!

Just got back from a Labor Day celebration. I love being with the people who value the hard work that it takes to make West Virginia home. The coal miners and Union members of West Virginia are still some of the best people you could ever be around.

Our citizens need protection and our Bad idea factory loves to dismantle protective regulations. The continual pollution of our state for sake of profit must stop. We deserve better!

If you could change one thing to improve the state of West Virginia what would it be? I'll go first. Public education needs our immediate and sustained attention. Centralizing control is not the answer, but equalizing the quality is.
