On Thursday, MinKwon was invited to an emergency press conference convened by the Mayor of Palisades Park following repeated ICE activity. The mayor announced that he would form a task force to protect Korean American businesses & residents.

Yesterday MinKwon Center joined New Jersey immigrant organizations at the “FREEZE ICE OUT” Day of Action at the State House in Trenton.

On January 12, the New Jersey state legislature passed three important bills aimed at protecting immigrants. As we see increased ICE presence across NJ—and the country—this is a major first step in ensuring the safety of our neighbors. We hope to see other states institute similar laws this year.

Today, we had our final session of the Citizenship Prep class. During the class, we discussed “OBBBA,” the new law that was signed on July 4th, and shared information with our clients. Our next session will take place in early September. Stay tuned for more information.

🌶️ New Jersey’s General Election is heating up! 🌶️ Things just got spicy in the Garden State. 🔥 Mikie Sherrill took the Democratic Primary with 33.9% of the vote. 🔥 Jack Ciattarelli took the GOP Primary with 67.8% of the vote.

🌦️🗳️ Despite the rain yesterday, MinKwon NJ, @aaldef.bsky.social, and AAPI NJ conducted exit polling at the Lindbergh School in Palisades Park. Exit polling is conducted to gather info about voters, difficulties faced at the poll site, preferred candidates, key policy issues, and more!
