It is becoming clearer today that Humberto will not pose a threat to Atlantic Canada. (Image 1) There is another storm, currently designated as PTC (Potential Tropical Cyclone) 9, which needs to be monitored, but early indications point toward the same outcome. (image 2) #nlwx

If you looked at the current satellite photo, you might conclude there's no smoke aloft, which doesn't really match the milky sky when you look outside. However, if we go back to earlier this morning when the shallower sun angle was cutting through more atmosphere, the smoke is very apparent. #nlwx
