I think I was too conditioned to shut up in public fandom spaces for years so as to not attract attention to me over drama. Anyone else feel this? I just let art and writing express it for me. But now I feel like fandom thoughts are precious and I am sad I just stored them away in locked convos.

Whenever I am traveling (especially the few times I have been to japan) I get so much inspiration. I try to write it all down even if it doesn’t amount to anything (doujin, fic, art), because I know that when I get back home I will get slapped in the face by reality.

I lost my munetaku plushies and cried at the Nagano art museum the morning I found out. About an hour later I got an e-mail back from one of the hotels we stayed at saying they found them (thankfully in tokyo). I hope to be reunited with them soon.

I been saying: zines! Physical objects that exist in the real world that people can stumble upon! Take your old issues of the Onion and leave them places! Photocopy some zines and stick a few inside the library books you return. Get a little bluetooth thermal printer and print stickers on the fly!

Really missing Natsume Yuujinchou (should just rewatch it). Does anyone here like it to? I was reminded of it since there will be a NatsuYuu exam this month on Japan, and there is some themed merch and collabs coming out. Hope I will be able to catch something at the end of feb/early march.

The discourse on the bird app reminds me how important the intergenerational aspect of fandom is. When I went to doujin events in japan I always saw older fujos, certainly in fandom for over 30+ years. It is incredibly stupid to think older women have no place in fandom.

Getting incredibly tempted to apply for tcaf even THOUGH I am an ocean away.
