Another regret right up near it is that when the con prep season rolled around again the lovely people at GenCon reached out to offer me the job again, but I wasn't in a position that would allow me to work a seasonal job. So I had to turn them down, because I needed full-time to pay rent.

I have many regrets in life, but a top contender is the year when I pulled the greatest temp job as fulfillment manager for GenCon. I got to go to the convention to run overnight will-call onsite, not only free, but paid with a private room at The Westin and a per diem.

It's a beautiful spring evening, 64 degrees and the patio door is open. Listening to all the classic sounds of spring; a distant lawn mower, birds singing, children recently released from winter holding oscillating between peels of laughter and absolute screaming meltdowns.

We bought a fancy new Ninja Pods and Grounds coffee maker (what a silly name), and I feel like I've leveled up as an adult. Not like "there's ice and water in my refrigerator door" levels of grown up, but "my coffee machine has a milk frother and can make cold brew" is still a ding.

I don't know, I think WoW's biggest issue right now is the pacing, but knowing from ESO, when they stopped pushing content too fast, the game got so much better. Companies learn to slow down a little, life is to be savored, etc.

We were going to finally catch up on story tonight but my brain is so gooby I decided instead to eat a piece of cheesecake and then take a bubble bath. I feel strongly that both of these things were excellent choices.

After Midnight's new campaign chapter, I hope Blizzard focuses on depth and pacing going forward, as they did in Suramar. Suramar had 26ish LONG chapters that rewarded you with a united Elven army marching on Elisande. And it STILL wasn't the perfect Alliance.
