After Roe was overturned, an @ANSIRH study found that the average travel time to access abortion care grew by 8.5 hours, and more than half of respondents said their abortion care required an overnight hotel stay.

Expanding access to contraception with over-the-counter options like Opill is vital right now. We have more work to do to ensure that contraceptives are affordable and accessible, especially in states with restrictions on abortion care.

There’s been a surge of disinformation about hormonal birth control these past few weeks. The science is clear: Birth control pills are one of the best-studied medicines on the market. We have decades of research demonstrating their safety and effectiveness.

Medication abortion is safe and well-studied. In large studies of medication abortion, hospitalization and other serious complications are very rare, generally occurring in <0.5% of patients.
