Yesterday, five-year-old Liam and his dad Adrian were released from Dilley detention center. I picked them up last night and escorted them back to Minnesota this morning. Liam is now home. With his hat and his backpack.

2025 Garden update. I have two zucchini, one summer squash and several tomatoes ripening now.

Garden update 06/11/25. Since I bought only three plant starts (and everything else I grew from seed), it's not looking too bad considering the cold and rainy weather we've had. Unfortunately the broccoli, cauliflower and kale starts that were gifted to me were all eaten by rabbits.

This is the kind of morning that makes me think seat warmers should be a standard car accessory.

Current mood:

Caught a mouse in one of my live traps this morning-first one since becoming cat-less a month ago. Started to talk to it just like I'd talk to Buddy. I don't think he appreciated the car ride to the park but he sure was relieved when so let him go.

And just like that, Christmas has been stored away. I didn't really feel like doing it today, because so felt like I didn't get to enjoy it this year.

Without downloading any new pics, what's your energy going into 2025?

I really miss the small, everyday mundane moments. This was last February. He was 15 1/2, had arthritis, kidney disease, diabetes, and had 2 (probable) strokes but was still getting around pretty well. I'm so glad have so many photos and videos of him.

I love my neighbors. Wished them a Happy New Year and somehow the conversation turned to losing my cat, Buddy earlier this month. A few hours later Alex showed up with these (she also got a tour of my place).
