DNFing my second book of this month. Not sure if it's the narration, writing, or me listening at 2.25x speed, but some parts make the MC sound so pretentious and patronizing. There's also some misogynistic, racist, right-wing undertone that make it even more unbearable. 🤮 📚💙

Long shot but... #BookSky, are there any middle grade books that deal with and recognize covert narcissism and/or toxic parenting traits? I found a reddit post with recs, but seem to be more geared towards teens, and that might be a bit more difficult for a 5th grader to comprehend. 📚💙 #books

I'm really liking Duet Night Abyss so far, but a couple of their characters remind me of WuWa resonators. Rebecca -> Cantarella, Truffle & FIlbert -> Verina, Lisbell -> Encore. To be fair, they aren't extremely similar, it's just their vibes. #DuetNightAbyss

Kobo Plus is great. The only thing is that I wish they would have promos to buy 1 or 2 years at once at a discounted price like Kindle Unlimited. I got a 2-year KU subscription in 2023, and it came out to almost half the price I'd pay monthly.
