My favorite thing about creating and owning characters is that I can just be needlessly cruel to them for no reason and nobody's allowed to get mad at me.

Caine wouldn't know what's in the void because that's how they leave, and he doesn't know how to leave because that's where he's supposed to be, where he was coded into. Of course, he wouldn't know or would ask them "not to venture into the void", he's asking them not to leave the game

Caine is the ringmaster for a VR game that got out of control and now it kinda like, sucks people's consciousness into the game, hence the random name generator. Now... What do games do, especially on PC when you click to exit? They always ask some form of, "Are you sure you want to leave?"
