I waited 5 months to get an appointment with a new primary care doctor. They said show up 15 min early. I was running 5 min late. This place is empty. Door is unlocked, and I'm inside, but no one is here and the lights aren't even on.

I got myself into a little house project which is snowballing a little... I'm 1000% capable, but it's one of those situations where every time I think I'm ready to start I think of one more thing I have to figure out. This all started because it was too rainy for yardwork.

Not me and @barcodetontos.bsky.social running a full fledged science experiment with his remote smoker thermometer inside the brand new fridge... Really putting this thing to the test in the first 48 hours so we know whether it's reaching the appropriate temp.

This is not the weather I would have chosen for a three day weekend... 😒

While visiting my sister, I started to joke about teaching her dog Spanish. He's a German Shepherd/Belgian Malinois mix. Within 15 min, he was starting to get a few basic phrases. All I did was repeat things he already knew in English followed by the Spanish phrase. That dog is ridiculously smart!

Wow. Read this, at the suggestion of a friend, and finished it in two days. Unsurprisingly, it made me cry.

You know we'd do anything for this dog because @barcodetontos.bsky.social and I spent our Fri night dismantling our bed frame to put the mattress on the floor so we won't have to worry about Hank jumping up in it. It's harder for my creaky old joints to get out of it but I'd rather it that way.

I think I have a 🤬 running injury again. I have been trying so hard to hold onto this thing that I absolutely love, that makes me feel like me. Being in your 40s absolutely sucks, but I'm not ready to give up yet. I just keep trying to make adjustments. We'll see if I can ever figure this out...
