I needed time to enjoy healthier and more present me 🤷🏾‍♂️ Last year was my most emotionally aware and lived-in year to date; however, that was also happening within spaces of romantic uncertainty. It's been very nice to just exist. Plus, I really need time to build and cultivate friendships

I joked about not dating until I had more money, but that’s the smallest issue. Bigger issues are: - I’ll be moving - People here aren’t my type - Lack of access to PrEP & Doxy - Risk of break-up blues - Distraction from schoolwork Now if a strong match showed up, I would have entertained it tho.

I think another thing people are missing is that both people could be in a major crisis and help each other navigate & cope through the difficulties of their lives. I mean, not to take it back to 1800, but we still dated and had fun then when our entire lives were major crises. So.

I think in addition to regularly showing up for people, we also need to be tolerant of a certain level of disagreement. If you’re going to be best friends or partners with someone, disagreement or frustration will come out at some point the more time you spend together. Don’t run away. Solve it.

This just reminded me that us humans are so big and bad until they catch us without weaponry and big vehicles lol

Happiness definitely shouldn’t revolve around a partner but we need to reset the expectation that happiness is a constant. All emotions will come and go and we have to find ways to live and be content with them as they transition.

I think people think being happily single means being alone, isolated, that nobody cares, and never wanting a relationship but that’s not necessarily true. You can be surrounded by community and still want a partner, but not necessarily be extremely broken about it.
