I know some people have had problems accessing the discord servers we use for the UGMs, so I'm trying an experiment with setting up a Zulip server for the
#RDKit
. If this works well, we can leave it up as an informal chat/discussion point for the community.

Refreshing Midsummer's day swim at Naset. Finally warm enough to get to second jetty when it was so cold last month I could only just make the first. We'll see how many weeks it takes to extend my efforts to the third jetty (red on right) and eventually ~550 m to get across the inlet (lower left)

aside: a stunning comment from David Baker, UW professor who won the Nobel Prize in 2024. Now 15 lab members are looking for positions overseas. “There’s so many amazing people who want to come in, & we can’t take them. The Nobel Prize was just a little blip. But things have gotten quite bleak.”

I’ve unfortunately needed to add more material to my post from yesterday. The re-election of Donald Trump is looking like the biggest act of American self-destruction since the Civil War. Same link, new title and some updates.
