It's a wrap! 🎉 The #REGROUP final conference has come to an end after two days of engaged discussions on the future of EU politics in terms of security, democracy, and legitimacy. Huge thanks to @eui-schuman.bsky.social, our panelists, and the audience for celebrating the project's (nearing) end!

Time for today's last session 👉👉 "Risk, resilience, reaction: Whither Europe?". Brigid Laffan, Eric Maurice and Nicoletta Pirozzi discuss how Europe is forced to lead its own security during global crises and rising populism. Yet its unity and ability to respond effectively remain in question.

Ready for day 2 with a roundtable discussion on EU politics in the post-truth era. 👉 From the threat of social media on democracy (Iva Nenadić), to the rise of disinformation (Lars Rensmann) and growing attacks on science (Ilaria Capua), this session tackles the forces altering European politics.

Moving on to the first roundtable with Federico Fabbrini, Kalypso Nicolaidis, and Vivien Schmidt! This session explores the sustainability of EU's fiscal policy, the impact of participatory efforts like the #CoFE, democratic legitimacy, and the need to rebuild citizens' trust across the Union.

How is the clash between the welfare democratic and the membership logic shaped during crises? In his opening keynote, Prof. Maurizio Ferrera (University of Milan), explains how the EU maintained solidarity and political sustainability during the #covid19pandemic and compares this to other crises.
