The best fight in the Mortal Kombat film franchise is still Liu Kang vs. Reptile from MK ('95). It was done with a HK stunt team that gave it a more brutal well choreographed scene. So for me, any time there's a fighting game based movie I'm always hoping for that HK action feel.

I'm not defending the 2021 film, it was a slog to get through so I get the pivot. But my god it feels like such a waste of time, money, and talent. Like, they themselves are admitting it with this sequel. I just feel bad for everyone who put effort in that project to now have it be null & void.

Never have I experienced a sequel negate the previous film harder than the new Mortal Kombat film. MK II is what MK (2021) should have been. In any other scenario you could watch the original & sequel together or separate & they work. Here they were just like "Yeah f*** that movie, just watch this"
