from the forest to my cup π this has been an interesting experiment that taught me a lot about how tea works. I made a latte using the nettle leaves I found.

Furry cons will change your life tbh. Imagine 3-4 days of socialization where the vast majority of the content - instead of being tied to corporate franchises and pre-existing IPs - is just passionate people expressing themselves and sharing their interests. And also, SHITLOADS of free, warm hugs.

other artists: What accounting software do you use? I used quickbooks, but the subscription is so expensive at $40/mo. folks who have the business side of their stuff together and are doing quarterly taxes, tracking schedule C's, HSA, IRA contribs etc, what do you use?

I thought about whether it's true that illustrators get less feedback online... I looked back at some really, really early posts I made from 15 years ago and despite how crude the drawings were, the comments section was definitely thriving. It does feel like ppl are stretched thin and interact less

When I was like eleven years old, I was obsessed with drawing in MSPaint with a mouse, and I would shade drawings by using the pencil tool to make edges between shadow values and fill them in. Now, I carry on the same basic technique: draw regions of shadow with hard edges and blur them smooth.

On a flight, I notice acutely how hard it is to control what my eyes - and my attention - do in an environment surrounded by distractions. I do not want to be aware of what movie Joe from two aisles ahead of me is playing on his screen, or what the person seated next to me is doing on her phone.

awugh makeup is pretty intimidating? when I try to learn more about it from the internet, there are always obscure intermediate steps to everything that feel like gotchas that will reveal that I don't know what I'm doing, and I feel like a loser for learning from internet tutorials.

cleaning is a fantastic mental health tool. having a clean space is good, but more than that, the act itself forces you to pull your attention out into your senses so you can look for things around you that you've been filtering out that you need to fix.

the nicest thing you can wish upon an artist in 2026 is that their work gains a small but dedicated cult following of kind hearted and politically shrewd weirdos & sickos that keep the fire going. the meanest thing you can wish upon an artist in 2026 is that their work gains a large online fandom

if you want to support me materially this trans day of visibility, donating on my patreon is a good way, or pursue some sticker commissions or something! Medication is expensive and healthcare is one of my biggest monthly expenses.

I was looking back at one of my old accounts. There are a lot of other artists who followed me there who were heroes to me. Nowadays, because I moved on to focus on Tanraak stuff, I have a different group of people who look at what I post. I fit in a different space. Been thinking about it.

there are a lot of easy glib responses to this but let me give you a real one. I was on a fan forum a long time ago for a christian fantasy book series. the books were church-approved despite being fantasy and I was really into them, I'd actually seen the author speak in person. It was "safe" media.

Latex makers need to make latex catsuits for women with dicks. They're always either female cut (space for breasts and flat crotch), or male cut (flat chest with space for junk). Give me a female cut suit with options for a sheath or bulge in the crotch please.

Idk. I think a world where monsterfuckers who value consent, folks into weird and hard kinks that aren't for me, folks with identities and fursonas that I don't always understand, and the uncertainty and compassion that all requires, is vastly preferable to whatever the hell is going on right now.

there's lots of stuff about expressions in NSFW art that you probably understand on a subconscious level, but maybe you've never thought about consciously! take the difference in vibes between these two expressions. The one on the left is more wanting, the one on the right is more orgasmic.

That's a really interesting read! A lot of this is true for me, too, with some differences. I absolutely experience being mentally sound-blocked such that a conversation, thing playing in the background, and other peripheral noise can totally block me from being able to think or concentrate.

People don't get what it's like to have neurodivergent sensory processing and the world isn't built for it. When I was growing up, my misophonia was really bad. The best way I can convey it is that for most people, hearing an annoying sound is annoying, but seems easy to not react to.

Trying to deal with everything being so expensively responsibly and saving money sucks... it sucks small joys out of life. I used to go out to get coffee every morning. It wasn't really about the drink, it was about getting out into a third space and having a ritual to orient part of my day.
