I met someone today (at the Green Party Conference) who has left Labour and is looking for a political home (as are so many). He said he couldn't join the Greens because of our views on Trans Rights. I said I thought our policies for lifting 4 million children out of poverty perhaps matter more.

Everything at the Green Party conference has been uplifting, inspiring and hopeful. Not so for the people of Gaza experiencing yet more air strikes and starvation as the bombing continues. Today we took time out to show our support and demand sanctions on the genocidal Israeli government.

I took it for granted that I can just walk safely (thoughtlessly) into any church in the country, while my Jewish friends and families (and those of other faiths) were already taking steps to protect their communities. It is time for peace and unity among all people and faiths.

This is where Keir Starmer's Labour Party has taken us. A country where continuing to support Israeli action is legal, but supporting Palestinian Action is not. It is time for change.

Everywhere we're hearing the same call on the doorsteps - address inequality. It's time for compassion, fairness and leaders like Paul who will bring communities together.

Keir Starmer's Labour deciding to go with "digital ID" seems to be yet another demonstration of how they are deaf to the concerns of the elderly, poor and vulnerable. Given how many people struggle to claim the benefits to which they are entitled, I can see this being another mess.

In the Guardian: The business secretary, Peter Kyle, later said the Royal Navy could be called upon to tackle the crossings “if needed”. Is it just a game to these people? Surely Peter Kyle (still on X), should be saying "we will never use the Royal Navy to harm innocent refugees". I despair.

Wales, much of London and even our neighbours in Cheshire West and Chester - but not Cheshire East which continues to ignore the evidence and bury its collective head in the sand. Enough is enough. Time for change.

If you're in Wilmslow, do complete the Residents' Survey. If you'd like cleaner rivers, then ask the Council to work with United Utilities or take legal steps to stop sewage being poured into the local rivers. Local children and pets don't need to get sick every time they play out in the water.

Couldn't agree more - well I would, wouldn't I! @cheshire-east.bsky.social - failing to acknowledge their failings is a sure way to repeat them. Simple improvements like joined up thinking between departments, or even copying best practice from elsewhere, are missing, it's not just lack of money.

Cheshire East's Active Travel consultation closes on Sunday. I'll be telling them they should rip up their proposal and start again, and the "Speed Management strategy" along with it. Instead start with why they've failed so far and how things will change. Otherwise nothing will change.

Have you saved money this month - maybe bought something in the sales, didn't go out for a meal/coffee, reused/recycled/repaired rather than replacing...? If so could you spare some of your saving for our campaign - we're only funded by donations from people like you, and every penny helps.....

If you voted Labour last summer, but can't do it again, I'm not surprised. You haven't left Labour, Labour have left you. Fortunately voters in by-elections, like the one coming up next month in Wilmslow, Lacey Green can Vote Green for fairness, equality and support for their local communities.

United Utilities poured sewerage into the River Dean last year for over 4 hours a day (average) So locals won't walk by the river with their dogs or children. With 64 Councillors representing parties which have received donations from UU, I wonder why they are silent. #VoteGreen for Lacey Green.

Hardly surprising. Out and about in Lacey Green yesterday talking to residents - we're all shocked how United Utilities have poured sewerage into the River Dean for an average of more than 4 hours a day in 2024... and UU are by no means the worst...

I'm guessing there was 60 years between our oldest and youngest supporters today - not both in this picture! We had a good time in beautiful Lacey Green, chatting to residents and listening to their concerns.
