When I moved in I had a surfeit of outbuildings. A large red square shed, a decent green one, a corner summerhouse, and a very big workshop next to the house. This is their history.... 🧵 I took down the red one and made a Norwegian hen house and raised cold frame from the timber.

Hugo's 13 today. To celebrate I thought I'd showcase his non-human friends, varied diet, and preference for any water that isn't my tap water served in a bowl.

Dug out the dvd and watched the original. To think I'd not seen it until six years ago. Posted a pic that generated countless 'Florals for Spring' comments that we had to Google the quote, then get the dvd to unlock that and other oft quoted bits. Thought I'd watch it again. That is all.

Solar panels & April's longer days meant I'm £10.30 up at the end of the month after paying the electricity & gas. I've a wee hipped roof with just 7 panels, but let's see what I can bank from them over the summer to help get through the winter.

Decided to make the most of the warm weather and give Hugo his first shower in the downstairs bathroom that I designed to be dog friendly - he wasn't keen, is no longer panting, and the house smells of damp dog 😂

When it's warm and you want to maximise the contact with the cool tiled floor 😂

Guy from yesterday, without his dogs, came at me & Hugo on our walk. "What was was my problem yesterday?", started pushing me, saying the people in the car were about to punch him yesterday, & that he was going to come for me every day - only backed off when I said I'd call the police. Just awful.

This evening a guy let his two retrievers on flexi leads run across the road at Hugo. Thankfully the oncoming car saw them in time to brake. FFS you only ever use a flexi lead near a road if its locked-off short.

Found a great hack for using command strips to hang IKEA Rodalm or any frame that are thinner than the strips - use them to fix a horizontal baton to the wall, and the top edge of the frame simply sits on that - it's weight supported along it's length 👌

A few surviving tulips from the bottom of the garden. It's where I put pots when they're dormant. Not refreshed them for a while (4 yrs I think), and these few were the last survivors in their pots, worth a pic but not carrying up to the patio for one tulip in each 😂

It's that time of year when Hugo's hair is in demand. I'd filled up the peanut feeder in readiness and last week it was all teased out to line nests 🪺 🪺 🪺 The swamp donkey's been groomed and the dispenser refilled 👍 *he's not had spot-on flea treatment so his fur's safe to put out for them

FB reminded me 16 yrs ago I was diving (no cage) with these massive tigers on the Aliwal Shoal (ZA). If she swims at you, just push her down on the snout, they said - turns out they weren't joking! Did you take a while to relax 😂 I was using a fish-eye lens, so it was closer than it appears
