Birch Lake, AK south of Fairbanks. A familiar cabin on the ledge for anyone who has stopped At the highway pull off on this tranquil little lake.

A friend posted her dinner view from Puget Sound last night. I decided to paint it. I really like this one for the deep sunset color and water variations. Was a good lesson!

The Palouse Scenic Byway in WA is so bright green and gold right now. Trying different techniques and learning landscape depth and how to draw the eye in here. These are 14”x14”.

My love language right now is sending small paintings to random relatives and requesting (demanding) they put them on their fridge. I also include an Alaska magnet so they have no excuse.

A west facing drawing of the original Fort at Fort Yukon. The area was originally called Gwichyaa Taii after that hill in the distance, there were two of them. At the conjunction of the two largest watersheds in Alaska. The Chief, Sa'vyaa, wouldn't grant permission for the Fort to be atop the hill.

Painted today, using @alaska.bsky.social pic of Gold Creek as inspo. Painted with my instructor. For a painting I will probably use as scrap paper… I learned quite a bit and had fun. I’ll keep trying with this one!
