Added some insane charts showing newly-made machines being added to locations over the year pinballmap.com/stats Are they hard to read? Yes. Could they be improved? Maybe. And maybe by you, since our code is open source. Do they look better on desktop? Yes. Do they look better in light mode? Yes.

We added a stats page with some stats on it pinballmap.com/stats

On the website, we just added the number of edits made to a location and by how many users.

Today we submitted an app update that moves the "You" (your profile) tab out of the bottom navigation and into the side menu, and replaced it with an Events tab. The Events are pulled directly from the IFPA calendar. And we made some little design changes. Should be out soon.

Added pagination to the list of results on the website. Next will work on adding a moan sound when it's clicked.

We just made a pretty big design change on the website. - Removed map "zoom limits" so now you can quickly refresh the map anywhere. - New symbology. It changes as you zoom (the # of machines text is not great at managing conflict - sorry) - The map autoloads nearby results on initial page load.

Still very much a work in progress. Switching from #maplibre markers to symbol layers, and working on optimizing any search to only take a max of like 1.5 seconds, and have no "zoom limits" as we currently do. So like, you'll easily be able to load all the data.

My fun hack this week: running Doom II on the Spike 2 platform used in Stern #pinball machines. The main processor is an ARM Cortex A9 running an ancient version of Linux. Switches, including the flipper buttons, are handled by microcontrollers in the cabinet talking over a proprietary "node bus”.
