Our visiting researcher Nihan D. Dagtas is a PhD candidate in Tel Aviv and at the moment in Tübingen. She is working on a field kit designed to accelerate the screening of sediment samples for ancient DNA, facilitating more informed and efficient sampling. We wish you every success!

The Geogenomic Archaeology Campus Tübingen is featured in the special exhibition at the URMU (Museum of Prehistory Blaubeuren). Titled “SCHAU! Mammut und Höhlenlöwe vom Vogelherd”, the exhibition showcases Ice Age figurines and runs from May 16, 2025, to March 1, 2026.

Dr. Milan Varsadiya joined the GeoGenomic Archaeology Campus Tübingen (GACT) in March as a postdoctoral researcher under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Andreas Kappler, Prof. Dr. Michaela Dippold, Jun. Prof. Dr. Cosimo Posth, Prof. Dr. Christopher Miller, and Dr. Susan M. Mentzer.

Last Friday we were in the field and shooted some videos for our sampling protocol: How do I take samples for different scientific questions? For example, without contaminating it with modern DNA. We will make everything available soon!

As part of the GACT visiting research program, Dr. Greta Brancaleoni from the Geological Sciences of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Warsaw, Poland, is studying dung-rich deposits, exploring the interactions between humans and their surrounding environments. More information on our website!
