Spent the first part of Anthrocon volunteering and yes, it *was* quite satisfying to disentangle lanyards for a while

As much as the world's gone to shit in the 8 years since I was last in Pittsburgh, those years've brought me so much more than I ever expected: an incredible partner, a fursona, Spanish fluency, a life in Canada, a confidence in my own queerness…like coming back to the same city in a different life.

As we assemble for Anthrocon, remember ours is not the only convention happening in this season. A bunch of truly nasty faux-Catholic dipshits just got together to get themselves excommunicated from the Church in a truly amazing and delightful fashion. Schisms ahoy!

Wonder if anyone at Anthrocon will be selling postcards, since I see there's a post office nearby 🤔

Airplane thought: if anthro animals have the same keen sense of hearing that regular animals have, then raves and clubs and bands on those worlds would be playing music at a volume a human would find chill and comfortable, right?

Realizing #anthrocon is just a week and a half away! This month has been packed and flew by. It's my first furry con as a proper attendee and I have no real goals beyond meeting good folks and taking in the vibe, so I'm excited (and nervous! but mostly excited).

Paper books are great for many reasons, but my favourite is the chance to write in them; it turns the book into a record of your meeting its story. Which is to say I've been very glad @robmacwolf.thevoice.dog's Of Late Belonging (sequel to an ebook short story I really liked) came in print 📚

What a great project! Just donated. One thing I've learned from folks since joining the fandom: how valuable it's been having our own infrastructure (partly as the result of early exclusion from other communities) as the Internet has become controlled & censored. This would be a very cool addition!

For my non-furry friends, this is about as prestigious as furry literature awards go... The Oscars, if you will. Congratulations to all the winners! Well deserved ❤️ You make me extremely proud to be part of this little community.

The Coyotl nominations this year were great—reading all the short stories and some of the rest was an awesome introduction to furry fiction. I was genuinely impressed. Super excited to see the awards come out today—congratulations to the winners ✨

SiTS! My first time at this event on the Toronto islands—great turnout despite the weather and a lot of cool folks. @darbington.bsky.social got me significantly more excited about birds and I came home smelling like campfire, so an A+ afternoon.

Finally visited the RC Harris water treatment plant for Toronto's Doors Open! It's far but it's beautiful and interesting and worth it. Municipal infrastructure is cool ✨

Back at Furnal Equinox I was impressed by a friend's hood by @scrapyardlthr.bsky.social, and I am just so incredibly charmed and delighted by my own that just arrived. It's so beautifully made and colourful and friendly—I can't wait to wear it for the summer's events and cons 🙂

I really enjoyed "Back to the Molly House"! Great story about queer community and pain and love, and about the world of 18th century England I learned a ton about (it's so well researched). Check it out ⬇️
