After our last collab with 2018's "The Whey of All Flesh," Josh & I are finally working on a new comic. ATTRITION is a space horror about seven prisoners stranded aboard a decommissioned, experimental spaceship. We submitted it for an anthology, but even if we don't get in we're still doing it.

Most of us did not choose to write or draw or design so that we could put products on the shelf. We chose to do it because it’s a set of skills we enjoy exercising, that give us fulfillment. It’s like asking a pro pitcher to just let a machine pitch for them. Fuck off and give me the ball.

This is such a beautiful sentiment. Thank you for finding and sharing our story with your students. I don't think either of us could gave imagined this when we made it, and it's a joy to see it's found life beyond our imaginings.

Today in my undergrad comics class, we’re discussing Contact High (2017) by @josheckert.bsky.social & James Wright. I pair it with Janelle Monáe’s Dirty Computer film. While the comic isn't explicitly about HIV/AIDS, I’ll use today to talk about touch, fear, & queerness. It’s all so new to them.
