I’m a little on the fence when it comes to rating Love Galaxy. On the one hand, it’s so competently written that it easily stands above 90% the field. On the other hand, it’s just missing some sort of spark to make it into one of the best sapphic science fiction novels I've read recently. 🌈📚

After six months, I finally recieved my order of Creator's Grace Vol. 1 and At the World's Mercy Vol. 1 and 2 from Yiggybean! For those who don't know, these are some of the first Chinese sapphic books (or baihe) officially accessible to the West and they are gorgeous. They turned out so well. 😍

I wished Lady’s Knight had chosen to do anything new or risky with its narrative. Instead, the story is mostly characterized by predictable plot points and twists...A sapphic novel doesn’t have to defy gravity to be great, but at a bare minimum, I do expect it to keep me awake at night. 🌈📚

I wouldn’t recommend The Devils just for the sapphic romance—there isn’t enough focus for that—but I also wouldn’t *not* recommend it if you’re looking for a memorable and unique sapphic relationship and don't mind the premise. I will fully admit that I fell in love with the wholesome chemistry. 🌈📚

Every year, I sort through dozens of sapphic books (twice!) to find the ones I'm most excited about. This year, I had the pleasure of looking at nearly one hundred new releases. So if you ever hear people saying that sapphic books aren't in vogue, this is proof to the contrary. 🌈📚

I'm very conflicted about R.F. Kuang's Katabasis. As someone who has actually read Plato's Phaedo, Katabasis very much feels like "Oh my god, that's the thing from [insert text here]!" the book. I'm wondering if anyone from #AcademicSky had a similar first impression. (1/3)

Just finished this gorgeous Illumicrate edition of The Raven Scholar. The hardback art has so much more meaning now that I've finished the book, IYKYK. I absolutely flew through these 600 pages in two days and can't wait for more. 🪐📚

Oof, I tried so hard to muscle through this sapphic book, but I just couldn’t do it. This was too YA for me. The main character’s often cruel hatred of vampires was also a huge turn-off. I personally don’t find prejudice attractive in a main character. Maybe it just hit too close to home.

If you're anything like me, you're going to love this book for its seductive romance. The rest can take a backseat until critical thoughts emerge. (The novel is The Duke, a regency-era sapphic romance set to release in April of this year.)

Publishers discreetly hiding the gender of the love interest for authors who have written queer works before (and may or may not be writing a queer romance in their next book) has to be one of my least favorite trends in the book industry right now.

I'm currently reading When the Tides Held the Moon by Venessa Vida Kelley, a beautifully illustrates gay romance inspired by The Shape of Water. Kelley did all of the illustrations themselves, which is awesome!
