I wished Lady’s Knight had chosen to do anything new or risky with its narrative. Instead, the story is mostly characterized by predictable plot points and twists...A sapphic novel doesn’t have to defy gravity to be great, but at a bare minimum, I do expect it to keep me awake at night. 🌈📚

I wouldn’t recommend The Devils just for the sapphic romance—there isn’t enough focus for that—but I also wouldn’t *not* recommend it if you’re looking for a memorable and unique sapphic relationship and don't mind the premise. I will fully admit that I fell in love with the wholesome chemistry. 🌈📚

Every year, I sort through dozens of sapphic books (twice!) to find the ones I'm most excited about. This year, I had the pleasure of looking at nearly one hundred new releases. So if you ever hear people saying that sapphic books aren't in vogue, this is proof to the contrary. 🌈📚

Just finished this gorgeous Illumicrate edition of The Raven Scholar. The hardback art has so much more meaning now that I've finished the book, IYKYK. I absolutely flew through these 600 pages in two days and can't wait for more. 🪐📚

Oof, I tried so hard to muscle through this sapphic book, but I just couldn’t do it. This was too YA for me. The main character’s often cruel hatred of vampires was also a huge turn-off. I personally don’t find prejudice attractive in a main character. Maybe it just hit too close to home.

If you're anything like me, you're going to love this book for its seductive romance. The rest can take a backseat until critical thoughts emerge. (The novel is The Duke, a regency-era sapphic romance set to release in April of this year.)

After reading Alice Rue Evades the Truth, I am dying to see what stories Emily Zipps works on in the future. Fortunately for me, Zipps has already announced her sophomore sapphic novel, a Sliding Doors-style rom-com told from the perspective of two versions of an adult queer woman. 🌈📚

It's been so long since I read a book and got surprised by a sapphic romance inside it. In a way, I feel like the ease of access to information has killed the joy of discovering things about a book yourself. Anyway, I was kicking my feet like a little kid again when it finally happened yesterday. 😌

Why is fantasy more popular than science fiction in books right now?

I did it. I finally did it. I watched "Hotel Reverie," the first episode of Black Mirror in nearly a decade to feature a sapphic romance at the heart of its narrative. And I really liked it. This probably means that I need to watch "San Junipero." I'll get back to you on that.

PSA: Despite being marketed as sapphic fantasy, Cinder House centers on an F/M relationship and has no hints of F/F except for one nasty scene. I found out yesterday by reading the Goodreads reviews of people understandably pissed about the misleading blurb and marketing. This shit is so gross.

In recent sapphic book releases, I want to spotlight The Devil She Knows and The Isle in the Silver Sea. The former is about a woman who makes a deal with a demon to win back her ex, while the latter is set in a world where knights and witches are fated to fall in love and doom each other.

For a while, it felt like comics were one of the few places where you could consistently find flattering sapphic fiction. These days, the publishing industry has gotten better at it, but I still have a special place in my heart for the comics that started it all…and the very good ones. 🌈📚
