Who wants to spend a few hours with me and my lab? It’s two MRIs of your brain, cognitive tests, and some bloodwork. Help us find treatments for cognitive aging, by studying healthy cognition in mid life!

I was interviewed about the NIH funding cuts and delays, which have been catastrophic for many scientists. My lab is waiting on a new grant on cognitive aging that has been delayed. I would hope this has bipartisan support. Consider calling your congress person; your health depends on it.

NIH has rescinded its scientific integrity policy. Hard to see this as anything other than clearing the way for shoddy research on things like vaccines. Regardless of the rationale, it's bad news for public health.

New report shows that NIH grants fueled $95 billion in economic activity and 407,782 jobs in 2024. That's not to mention the countless lives that biomedical research has saved. Show me a better investment than that.

🔬🧪🥼🔭🧠🦠📈🟦 There will be a nationwide walk-out and protest on Friday to draw attention to the gutting of federal scientific infrastructure and the silencing of scientists contradicting the administration's new decreed "truth". Show of hands: Who's going? Shall we start a protest sign idea thread?🧵
