I did it! I spent my two weeks off writing and submitting a play to the Soho Theatre Verity Bargate competition. I am not going to win but now I have a solid first draft to start trying to put it on!

Really pushing myself to meet the SoHo theatre open call in my time off. It's a pace I've never written at before (around 9 pages a day in screen format) and boy it is a ride, but has weirdly been a confidence boost to know if I ever am lucky enough to make writing the only job that I can keep up.

Man what a good night, it's my first time directing theatre and it's so much fun to get such instant feedback on your writing and direction from an audience. And to be surprised when a reaction is different or delayed is such a good learning experience. Working with a bunch of lovely people helps.
