Comic of The Day (01.09.25) The oldest in my collection Beano Issue 583 from 1953. The first appearance of General Jumbo drawn by Irish comic artist Paddy Brennan. Some classic early Dennis The Menance and Rodger The Dodger alongside an old favourite of mine Pansy Potter.

Comic of The Day (25.08.25) Beano Issue 4300 with a free Puzzle Book. The enjoyable and excellent weekly Lol-A-Day Summer Fun continues with The Mystery of The Creepy Crawler where poor Smiffy is still confused. Elsewhere we meet the Spirt of The Crystal Skull and the Serious Banana.

Comic of The Day (22.08.25) Suke en Wiske Collectie Willy Vandersteen. The first Suske en Wiske Collection from 1986 which has the first 4 stories numbers 67 to 70. Its starts at 67 (four-coloured series) the previous older 66 were reworked into the series. An essential book for comic book fans

Comic of The Day(20.08.25) Irish Conflict in Comics: Rebellion, Nazi Spies and the Troubles by James Bacon Not a comic book but a history of comics. The depiction of Ireland in comics from the USA, the UK and Europe. It has some great details of history of comics in Ireland & on Irish creators

Comic of The Day(19.08.25) Commando 5881 The Longest War Story by Paul Cornell & Art by Steve Yeowell. A Korean man who fought in three different armies, on three different sides, over the course of one war that is based on the story of Yang Kyoungjong. A great debut from Cornell & Yeowell.

Comic of The Day(15.08.25) Mystique Most Wanted The latest X-Verse 'From The Ashes' trade Irish creator Declan Shalvey. Picked it up a few weeks ago in Mechanik Strip Antwerp. A limited series that re introduces Mystique for this new era in the X-Verse.

Comic of The Day(14.08.25) Popeye - Enuffs Fisticuffs Popeye Sunday Newspaper Strips from Randy Milholland 'Enuffs Fisticuffs!' has all 11 parts where all fighting is banned town & an epilogue. All compiled in a A4 comic from Tasq Art & Lighting Strikes Comics. An enjoyable pleasant read.

Comic of The Day(13.08.25) Spirou Weekly A special Smurfs film tie in with the Smurfs taking over with a new strip and the latest strips from the new series 'Pym et la forêt éternelle' and the latest strip from the 2nd series of 'Tannis'. Also the latwst from the new 'Les Tuniques Bleues' story.

Some 30 years later after my my first Roche purchase I've gone and ordered Nick's latest book.

Quite like this Tintin inspired homage cover B for Detective Kaiju Issue. Though if I buy issue 2 I'll need to get Issue 1.

Looking at this weeks new comic book releases this made me look twice as I genuinely thought it was a new Thundercats release.

Very good Dennis The Menace over the years including the USA version that I spotted on reddit.

The graphic novel collection has been a popular form of partwork in the UK/Ireland for the past decade and I have to wonder why a UK publisher hasn't brought out a fortnightly manga partwork. 🤔 Anyway in France 🇫🇷 there is a new My Hero Academia newsagent collection. youtu.be/QW965CzZM6g?...

Another comic book holiday. An exhausting but enjoyable week with visits to Comic Art Museum in Brussels (Belgium) and Museum of Comic Art in Noordwijk (Netherlands). Two fantastic museums I'll probably go into more detail next week.

I've a few comic/strip/BD things to do/see in Brussels next week. One of which is a visit to Etterbeek to see this bust of Herge and a few more nearby locations connected with Herge. Its great to see it returned to the area that was Herge's birthplace. www.tintin.com/en/news/6344...

The Museum of Comic Art(Noordwijk) new exhibition on the work of Willy Vandersteen especially the 80th year of Suske & Wiske. Funded this special release through a dutch crowdfunding campaign. Heading to the museum next week and looking forward to learning more about Willie Vandersteen & his works.

Bananaman in The Beano still continues to be the best comic strip around and the recent strip really hit me in the feels. The Dandy was a classic and would be great to see it return.

Well my next trip to Belgium 🇧🇪 is booked 🙌 An empty suitcase to fill with comics, Bande Dessinée and Strips. Suske en Wiske Day planned & a few museums to visit and another stroll around the Brussels Comic Strip Route. New Smurfs film out aswell so might might try to catch that.

1992 UK comic Beezer & Topper Issue 100. Fantastic gatefold cover showcasing the various characters that appeared in the comic. Sadly the comic would be cancelled in 1993 but some of its characters still live on in the Beano and in occasional specials.

Scarenthood is one of my favourite comics so it's great to hear about the potential of future volumes.

So 24/25 years ago my 1990 to 2000 collection of Beano/Dandy were wrapped up in bags and placed into storage. Now I've finally open the old cupboard and so begins a process of sorting them out which might take a while as I'm kind of re-reading them.

Arrived today my first comic from Slovenia (they seen to have a great comic industry over there) Stripburger Special Edition "HolyBurger In Comics We Trust" A collection of ten strips from creators from around the world from Slovenia to Argentina (1/2)

Looking forward to this edition of The Phantom. The Australian Frew comic is great read but getting it over to Ireland makes its a extremely pricey comic even when you buy in bulk or a subscription and then customs can get you also.
