What comics artist do you think has made the biggest impact on the industry with only a limited amount of published work? #comics

Kinda excited for the new Fantastic Four film. Word is they finally got it right. The Invisible Woman has always been my favorite FF character and I’ve been pretty fortunate to get some nice art of her from the likes of @jimlee.bsky.social, Ron Frenz and Mike Wieringo over the years.

Dared to enter the closet that is a tesseract and found my Gen 13 #1 signed by @jimlee.bsky.social, @jscottcampbell.bsky.social & @alexgarnerart.bsky.social. Haven’t seen this in, easily, fifteen years.

Growing Gen X is wild. It’s knowing a time before computers while carrying a Bat-phone in your back pocket. It’s still remembering your deceased granny’s phone number while not having memorized a number in years. It’s not knowing who most celebrities are while calling your nephews Frick and Frack.

Aww, man. Rest in peace. The man did have a complicated legacy but without him, you don’t get the epic Claremont/Byrne X-Men, Byrne’s FF, Frank Miller’s DD or Secret Wars. Many built the foundation but he shored it up and kept it from crumbling.

Posted this four and a half years ago. Since then he done Detective Comics starring Batman. Did a three year sting on World’s Finest. Currently the artist of Superman AND Justice League Unlimited. Next up, the DC/Marvel crossover, Batman/Deadpool. Dan Mora is the truth.

Got a friend who micro-directs every new Superman trailer. Yesterday, I had to stop him. I’m sick of takes. Know what I want from a new Superman movie? For it not to break my heart the way “The Man of Steel” did. That’s the bar.

Just read the sad news that writer Peter David passed away. I owe him a great debt as his Sin-Eater Saga in Spectacular Spider-Man inspired me to write. I’d written before but somehow, his words stirred me to action. I’m eternally grateful. Rest in peace and thank you.

Unpopular opinion: Bruce Wayne did NOT die on the night his parents were killed. Bruce Wayne exists but very much from a place of heartbreak. Batman became this hurt little boy’s way to deal with this heartache. Batman is a name Bruce Wayne gave his grief.

Just read of the passing of one of my favorite artists, Jackson “Butch” Guice. He had did of my favorite Superman runs and his work on Winter Soldier was extraordinary. He was always one of those guys who made it easier to buy a comic if his name was on it. Rest in peace and thank you.

Went to Awesome Con last week and I’m honestly not dogging it out but some things need changing. The bulk of the vendors there were folks selling prints. Prints of pop culture IP. Think that one movie frame from a Harry Potter movie but someone drew it. I know I’m not the target audience but..

Daredevil Born Again, Episode 5 had the Marvel Team-Up none of us knew we needed.

Just rode the elevator with my 101 year old neighbor. He’s a WWII veteran. Still drives his car to church and is as sharp as a tack. Super nice fella. He’d just gotten back from our roof deck. First thing, he says is, “Spring is finally here!” I’m not sure why but that kinda melted my heart.
