Get a shingles vaccine, prevent dementia? I talk about his new paper on CBC radio (link below). Infections can be bad for the aging brain. (Shingles in terrible in & of itself- if you live in Ontario, you can get the vaccine btw age 65-70).

There are cells in our retinas that produce pigments to absorb excess light. Scientists are trying to understand what controls the number of pigments as this could help inform stem cell therapies.
