Somewhere in all that other stuff... I wrote a book. I mean, I've been working on it for 3 years, but I just finished. I'm sure it sucks balls, but it's better than some AI would do... Too bad it'll get lost in the shuffle somewhere.

A director friend has agreed to take on 1 of my scripts. His vision (aka budget) is actually 3x mine, but he also has direct access to an Oscar nom'd (But not A-list) actor who I had in mind. Sadly, the reality is that we may not see the inside of a sales agent's office unless we get an A lister.

Neat-o "The Chelsea Chronicles" made the 2nd round (so far) at the ISA Fast Track Fellowship. Hopefully it'll bounce into the top 50 next...

I got notes on BAD GIRLS today from an Emmy-winning screenwriter. It was educational. And humbling. And apparently some of the info that's being passed around between indie writers is total bullshit. He really liked the script, and after making the adjustments he suggested, I know it will be better.

Major life change coming. I knew it was the right decision when I really decided and felt a huge relief.

Not normally a contest I'd enter, but they were actually nice, although I couldn't even tell you what country they're in. it was more of a test to see if it was ok in other people's eyes. Miss Jolene wasn't unhappy, which is fortunate for the judges. ☠️ #scriptsky

It occurred to me that with @coverfly.bsky.social closing, I'm going to save lots of $. Why waste $ entering contests just to get on some arbitrary list? At first it felt like it meant something. Now it just feels like a waste. I'll still enter some festivals, but that's more curated. #scriptsky

I know a lot of #scriptsky - #screenwriting ppl are trying to get reps so they can sell/option their scripts. I have no interest (for now) in that. I DO want to get to producers to help find funding though. Have any of you had success (w/o reps) in making this happen?

BAD GIRLS BL review #2 came back as a 7. Better... Honestly for a first feature, it's as good as I could ask for. Not an 8, but the difference in 7-8 & 8-9 is all subjective. No complaints. This won't get me into Nicholl, though so I'm not even going to bother with that. #scripysky #Screenwriting

It's disappointing that so many people in the "industry" don't recognize satire, or don't appreciate humor that isn't spoon fed to them. This is one reason there's so much garbage floating around. The smart stuff or the odd stuff doesn't get any support because it won't make you a buck.

Had a bad exp w/one of the coverage companies on Coverfly. They delivered fewer pages of notes than promised & also delivered late. Their offers to rectify it were illogical, ridiculous, and insulting. Worse, they were the only option for what I was looking for. In short, they suck.🤬 #screenwriting

Wrote the big demon battle scene today. Kept it to 3 pages because 1) It's hard and 2) I think a 2-3 minute fight sequence is plenty, don't you? Gloomy Sunday is now just about 85 pages. We know where we need to add, so it probably will end up at 95-100. 1st draft due June 1... (self imposed)
