Today, we welcomed Dr Alison Gardner and Dr Rachel Clawson from the Rights Lab at the University of Nottingham for a roundtable discussion with practitioners working on modern slavery, human trafficking, and adult safeguarding. The discussion followed on from research conducted by the Rights Lab.

PhD success! 🎉 Yesterday, Liam Edwards defended his thesis entitled ‘Judicial Review in the Devolved Nations: A comparative analysis of the judicial review landscape in Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland’. Liam’s supervisors were Prof Gráinne McKeever and Dr Mark Simpson. Congratulations!

Today, some of our year 1 public law students visited Stormont to hear about the legislative process, meet with an MLA, and hear from Bill Office representatives. There was even a bit of a debate and a vote in the Assembly chamber! Thanks to the NI Assembly Education Office for arranging the visit!

On Thursday, our Naomi Mainwaring was at the Royal Belfast Academical Institution careers evening for year 12 and 13 students. We are delighted to hear that there was a huge amount of interest in our School and programmes, and we look forward to welcoming some of these students in the coming years!
