I think the one thing that stands out to me which I'd desperately want From to fix with Nightreign is that the inputs for character skills/arts don't take precedence over cancelling a prior attack into the next attack/chain casting spells. Very easy to accidentally use a slow spell and die.

I wanted to have my existential crisis culminate at an age ending in 0 or 5 (40 seemed like a good fit?), and best I got was crumbling in 2025. Hopefully 2026 is a year where I attain some measure of stability, cause financially, socially, my job, etc. all feel pretty backslidey atm.

I can't remember - did #EldenRing end up getting a final major balance patch like the earlier Souls games got? I feel like the SotE update didn't really come with much - at least not of the same scope as would have been expected before moving on to the later games.

Steam being a pseudo monopoly is complicated. It's obviously got downsides, but the AI disclosure requirement makes it so realistically everything releasing on PC has to disclose or risk getting banned right off the PC platform forever and it's the only way we'd find out about some of this shit.

The issue a lot of larger developers have run into is that their worlds and game mechanics aren't compelling enough to explore, so if players in those games hit a roadblock they're just going to put the game down. (though I wish they'd just design more interesting and robust games instead)

The original Let It Die was famous for its absolutely amazing soundtrack. Akira Yamaoka went and got in touch with a HUNDRED of his favourite indie bands and commissioned each to do a track named 'let it die'. The result was borderline mystical. They're AI-generating the music here. Fuck that.

Someone during the steam launch reached out to inform me that SE was extremely unhappy with the games release on Epic and was in fact fully treating the steam release as the games full release on PC and ignoring the former releases.
