Georgian people have been protesting for more than two years. Even if there aren’t many people on Rustaveli every day, the protest and anger is still there. Today is proof of that. And a strong opposition is a must if we want to get out from under the Bidzina Ivanishvili regime.

Levan Davitashvili never opposed the undermining of Georgia’s future - he was part of it. Now, after being questioned in a corruption probe and quietly leaving the country, he lands a multimillion-salary job as CEO of one of Italy’s biggest oil companies. How unfair.

Georgian Dream attacks the EU, says that Donald Trump may be defeated by the “deep state” in his administration, and attacks Israel too. But it is friends with Russia and Iran. This is what we are now.

There's a predictable approach to denial that we're already seeing, which I call the Four Pillars of Disordered Doubt, which allows actors to constantly question evidence that don't fit their preferred narratives.

Okay, so this is an authoritarian playbook trick, once the evidence is overwhelming say everyone needs to wait for the official investigation then either fix it or attack it when its completed. Same shit Russian pulled with MH17 and chemical attacks in Syria, very predictable.

On 27 January 1921, Georgia received its first de jure recognition - The Supreme Council of the Allied Powers that had won the First World War, at that time consisting of 🇬🇧 Great Britain, 🇫🇷 France, and 🇮🇹 Italy, recognized the Democratic Republic of Georgia de jure. 📷 Soviet Past Research Laboratory

This is the official “evidence,” according to Georgian Dream, that protesters created an obstacle for other pedestrians on the sidewalk, and as a result, three people were imprisoned for four and five days.

Troll accounts affiliated with GD are posting about Iran in Facebook comments, arguing that when protests become ‘destructive,’ the gov't is right to suppress them. They call Iranian protesters ‘Akatsuki,’ just as GD calls Georgian protesters. Therefore, GD is siding with the current Iranian regime.
