Just got home from a wonderful road trip through Umbria. This region in central Italy isn’t too touristy or well known yet, but has lots of charming hilltop villages, amazing food and impressive landscapes. Well worth a visit!

10 years ago I stumbled upon this little town in Lazio and fell in love with it. Now I’m finally back and it still looks just as fabulous. Great to be back in Tuscania!

Brussels Airlines revealed their newest “Belgian icons” livery, featuring the Atomium. Originally built for the 1958 Brussels world expo, the Atomium became a typical quirky Belgian landmark. And for an airline with lots of balls in their logo, this new livery seems very fitting!

What a difference! While on my flight from Pristina the meal was… underwhelming (2 leaves of salad!), on the flight to Brussels @austrianairlines.bsky.social surprised us with a very nice meal, salmon and mashed potatoes, paired with a lovely pinot blanc. Servus!

Turkish Airlines economy class meal versus Austrian Airlines business class meal. Both flights had roughly the same flight time…

From Istanbul to Pristina with Turkish Airlines. With a flight time of only around 1 hour, TK still managed to serve the passengers on a packed 737 this box with a turkey sandwich, mozzarella salad and cake for dessert. Drinks, including wine, were also offered. Colour me impressed.

Important day in Belgian aviation. 100 years ago, on February 12 1925, the first flight of Sabena to Kinshasa departed from Belgium to the then Belgian Congo. It took 51 days for the Handley Page W8f to arrive in Leopoldville. It would take another 10 years before a scheduled service to Congo began.

Wonderful flight with KLM back to AMS tonight. You just know it’s gonna be a great flight when there’s a personalised welcome card waiting for you on your seat 😀

EK just took off from BRU and other planes are entering Belgian airspace so I guess the problem is fixed. Meanwhile we’re being shoved on a bus again at VIE… high hopes!

Just got news that Belgian airspace is closed due to a technical problem with the radar or something at Brussels airport. Guess who just boarded a plane bound for BRU and is now stuck on the VIE apron?
