Two of my favorite tropes in fiction: 1) Folks who are convinced they’re going to hell yet try to do the right thing anyway. 2) Dads. Never in a million years would I expect to find both in a Venom comic, of all things. Nor would I think said Venom comic would become one of my all-time faves.

One of my first D&D sessions involved an hours-long hunt for a shop to spend our currency at, and then we only bought a few objects that never proved useful in the rest of the campaign. I include neither gold nor shops in my campaigns.
