Had a New Year’s Eve 2025 walk down at Gibraltar Point Nature Reserve and the dunes have eroded further back to start exposing a pill box which looks like it has been covered up for decades.

If anyone would like to make a pledge, no matter what amount, towards the making of this short film I’ve written I’d be eternally grateful. It’s about two people connecting in a very unexpected way with music bringing them together.

A still from the recording of my monologue Magic Carpets being performed live in Kyiv. It's at about 21.5 minutes into it. A wonderful performance by the actor so thank you for choosing it and thanks also to ProEnglish Theatre of Ukraine for organising the evening.

There's a new play about women's football in the WW1 era being produced next year. Intriguingly it was written in Italian originally and produced in Milan although it is about a Sheffield team. Great to know that the subject is still retaining interest.

After the recent film about the Shakers leader Ann Lee here’s another one about an isolated religious community with unorthodox beliefs. Maybe there is scope for theatre works exploring similar ground such as my play Children of God.

The Voices of GAIA is on tonight at The Core at Corby Cube and it includes my piece Magic Carpets which can also be heard on the website. In it a young girl recounts a perilous sea voyage to what she hopes is a safer place to live.

Almost 100 years ago in June 1925 the annual beach racing event was held on Skegness beach. This monologue imagines Ivy Cummings near the end of her life reflecting on her past glories. BarbaraAshworth gives a great performance as Ivy.

My copy came in the post today and my two pieces are The Curse of Yallery Brown, a contemporary retelling of the Lincolnshire folk tale and The Vicar of Stiffkey which imagines Billy Butlin witnessing Harold Davidson performing his fateful Daniel and the Lion act on Skegness seafront in 1937.

Spent the last few days editing this down to a 45 minute audio version with a much reduced cast of characters so hopefully it’s a tauter tighter piece. Much of it takes place in confined indoor spaces and I think that could be reflected really well in the sound design.

Delve into the mysterious life of Monica as she experiences a bizarre sequence of events. This surrealistic drama has moments of dark comedy as the stakes are continually raised. Can Monica work out what is happening and escape from wherever she is?
