Zum 1. Juli 25 wechselte Professor M. Pester vom Leibniz-Institut DSMZ-Deutsche Sammlung von Mikroorganismen & Zellkulturen an die TU München. Dort ist er Professor für Mikrobielle Physiologie. Der Mikrobiologe leitete von September 2017 bis Juni 2025 die Abteilung Mikroorganismen an der DSMZ.

Prof. Jörg Overmann has been Scientific Director of the Leibniz Institute DSMZ-German Collection of Microorganisms & Cell Cultures since February 2010. The Leibniz Institute DSMZ is the most diverse collection of biological resources in the world & is located on the Braunschweig-Süd Science Campus.

The Lower Saxony Ministry of Finance, as shareholder of the Leibniz Institute DSMZ-German Collection of Microorganisms & Cell Cultures, has appointed Prof. Y. Mast as interim scientific director until a new scientific director is appointed on the basis of the joint appointment process with the TU.
