Anyone else wear goth makeup with metal fashion? I find the two compliment each other very well if styled correctly.

Alto trombone is such a cool instrument. Has a good amount of parts for it from baroque and classical composers however, after score reading some parts. I am very much a fan of bringing it back. The lighter tone and brighter timbre give it a completely different voice than its bigger relatives.

New Skeletal Faces, Cemetery Sex and Misery Eden are the bands in question. Notably they’re all mainly categorized as deathrock. I suspect this will create a sort of blurring of lines between gothic metal and deathrock akin to crossover thrash in the 80s combining thrash metal and hardcore punk.

I’ve now discovered three bands that now amount to gothic metal with extra steps. Gothic metal created via goth bands getting heavier rather than metal bands incorporating goth influences. These bands are fairly underground, but it’s opened my mind to a cultural co-ownership of the genre.
