I wrote this on the last Friday 13th we had. Unlucky for some. Especially mice. It wasn't a good day for me. Let's hope this one is better.

I didn't sleep very well. Woke up in a cold sweat thinking about the time, approx 23 years ago, when I entered a singing competition with a Robbie Williams song, whose music I can't stand. What was I thinking? And why did it give me nightmares last night? In case you were wondering I didn't win.

I performed at my first poetry open mic last night. I was nervous but I gave it a go. I said the F word on stage which I haven't done for about 25 years when my mum told me off. No one died. I wasn't booed off stage. And perhaps one or two people actually liked my poems. That's a win for now.

Been to this today - truth and justice campaign created by The Centre for People's Justice in Liverpool and hosted by Wrexham Miners Project. The aims are to highlight how much institutional injustice there has been over the years and just how much we need the Hillsborough Law to be passed.

Annoyed with myself for not checking ingredients today on a curry I had for lunch. It was chicken and sweet potato so I didn't think I'd need to worry about fish sauce but those sneaky little anchovies passed me by. This is all I have at the moment to sort out my allergy - hopefully it will help.

A bit more serious than my usual poems. But needed to be written .

The live version of the podcast Uncanny: Fear of the Dark was brilliant tonight. However I did not enjoy the drive home by myself in the dark 👻 Absolutely loved the audience member's story about the haunted karaoke machine! I wonder what the mum did with the cassette?! @dannyrobins.bsky.social

There's a tall walking stick in the charity shop opposite work with an owl on it which I want for my birdwatching walks. If I bought this would I be the "really cool woman with the owl stick" or would it be "let's avoid that crazy owl woman at all costs"? To be honest, I'm happy with either.

Yesterday, a couple of my friends said they imagined me as a female version of Colin Firth, writing poems on a vintage typewriter by a lake. How the hell do I actually make this come true?!

Just stumbled across a book of writing prompts that I got in 2017. I don't think this needs any further explanation.

I have had some amazing feedback to my #perimenopause #poetry book so far, but the best thing has been the actual sound of laughter as people read through, and realise just how much they relate. And not just women! So pleased with how this has gone. (Plus three more actual sales today too!)
