We're veterans of many Landmark Trust properties but this time elected to try a National Trust place. The Souter Lighthouse near South Shields. We are not disappointed.

Three recent trips to create the best bottled beer selection I've had for a while. Finally got to Beers of Europe near kings Lynn, where I filled up with Weltenburger Klosterbier. Then Booths in Ilkley for an amazing selection of northern beers. Then on to Harvey's and Long Man breweries in Sussex.

I see Felon 47 is attending the Superbowl. Like most things, he'll have no idea what's actually going on, so will be bored stiff. It does have echoes of the 1936 Olympics in Berlin. We desperately need a modern day Jesse Owens to infuriate him.
