the more i sit with it the more i adore this ending... it's so delightful that instead of some kinda forced drastic change kyouji is given the time and grace to eventually meet satomi where he is. no questions of "does he deserve it?" or "does he need to do something to deserve it?" it's so wymym

and most of all i wonder what kind of things they talked about over dessert... what a lovely decision to keep that scene private, just for the two of them, because we've been watching over them all this time. there are some places we, the readers, can't follow them. what they are is theirs to decide

i keep looking at the very last panel and thinking ah... something has changed... this really is the starting line for a new future, where kyouji is stripped of his mask and has no choice but to give that hug. satomi is leading the way. satomi will drag you out of hell no matter what
