Supervised consumption sites not only save lives and build community. They also keep that extra burden off of first responders like fire fighters.

They will deny it was related but in Saskatoon there was an *immediate* increase in overdoses in public places when PHR closed its doors.

Can’t stress enough how backward this is.If you take away someone’s drugs, what happens?They go into withdrawal which will require an ambulance & ER trip costing money & services.Or they go in search of more, which could involve criminal activity or putting themselves in dangerous situations.

They claim the safe supply project did not work - well, it worked for the 5000 people they gave it to. and didn’t work for those still forced to take their chances with the street supply - imagine that! Just think of what could have been if they expanded the pilot to EVERYONE who needed it .

What is Carr talking about? We *know* they have never funded SCS. PHR & orgs like them have been saving lives on their own and with help from the public. What does that have to do with them pulling funding for all the other services they provide??? It’s just cruel, but i suspect that’s the point.
