Between 1879–1918, the Carlisle Indian Industrial School was part of a U.S. policy to forcibly assimilate Native children, erasing their identity through abuse and separation. Of 10,000+ students, only 158 graduated. 500+ children died in such schools. #IndigenousHistory

In Kansas, Native American children were forcibly taken to a Catholic boarding school as part of a U.S. government plan to wipe out their language, culture, and identity. They were abused—physically & mentally—and forced to reject their roots. This wasn’t education. It was cultural genocide.

Thousands of Indigenous children in the U.S. were taken to boarding schools where their language was silenced, their hair cut, their names erased — and many never returned. Mass graves have been found. This was not education. It was cultural genocide.

The true founding fathers of America were Indigenous leaders—Chief Joseph, Sitting Bull, Geronimo, and Red Cloud. They bravely defended their lands, rights, and people against colonization. Their courage and legacy are the real foundation of this land’s history. #IndigenousHistory
