the problem with the games industry is that it makes money in a sustainable way by creating stuff that people want to pay for this is in contrast to how big capital would prefer to make money, by trying to scale fake numbers to infinity using gambler brained investors lured in by impossible claims

It feels so easy to fall into the Skyrim perk tree trap of having perks that simply add X% damage or reduce mana consumption. Those are fine, but also boring. I really want to have more flavorful and consequential perks for character progression! But that's much harder... #indiegame #solodev #rpg

I just released a redesigned demo of Ardent Flame Lucia! My main concern as that d20 distributions are great for tabletop storytelling, but in a video game? Not very consistent, not ideal. So I moved to a two-dice system with a bell curve distribution. Hopefully it works better! 🧵👇

While I think it's a shame single-player experiences are losing space, I have high hopes for the future of gaming with these new audiences. I'm tired of mediocre AAA titles that are basically C-grade movies where you kill enemies between scenes and generic light-RPG progression slapped on top

Major update coming for Ardent Flame Lucia 👀 I'm moving from a single die to a two dice rolling system. Now it will be: 1 Attribute die + 1 Proficiency die. I hope more predictable and consistent rolls will suit a combat-heavy RPG better than rolls being all over the place. What do you think??
