I'm considering how to redesign Lazuli's tail.... I do like it as is now but simplifying it a bit or at least making the patterns more symmetrical will probably be better in the long run

Doll update: they're not bald anymore and they got a new shirt + shoes! Their choker spikes keep wanting to break off and I somehow lost one of the studs 😔 will need to repair later Still need to get them new eyes and maybe soon dye them but I'm in the middle of moving soon so that's have to wait

On another note I can't stand to look at Lazuli's old ref because the anatomy is ABISMAL!!!! What was I thinking?! I'm way happier with the new one because now her tail is the right length and her arms aren't as freakishly long

still working on the updated version but the difference in her tail size compared to torso is crazy 😭 she's practically all tail now LMAO but she's supposed to be ~13 ft in both it looks a bit off in this static pose but it'll look fine when she's actually posed in motion which is what I wanted

Turns out I just got the anatomy of the upper body wrong when I did the ref last year 😭 at least I fixed it enough for it to look okay when I make the tail longer

Trying to redo a ref for a mermaid oc and I really underestimated how long her tail would be depending on the proportion I give her. With a normal human sized upper body her tail would be a little over double her human form. And with normal proportions she'd be really big in general.

All my finals are done! Semester over!! I'M FREE!!!
