MLS could have had a jam-packed stadium in Columbus for one of the biggest games of the season so far, at one of their showpiece stadiums, in front of one of the best sets of supporters in the league, and they discarded that spectacle for a preseason friendly feel in a big plastic NFL stadium

I think all of the concerns over weather and competing with other sports are extremely valid, but at the end of the day I think MLS view being a bigger player in the global transfer market as a bigger tool to grow the league, and I can’t disagree with them.
