These are cheap and fast to make. They're produced in the tens of thousands. Maybe more than 100,000 have been made and dropped so far. Most drones Ukraine uses can drop multiple at a time. I think a Mavic can carry 2-3.

I can't recall off the top of my head, but these mines use something like 40 cents worth of 3D printer filament. Sometimes they use explosives scavenged from Russian bombs or Soviet stockpiles. The blasting caps are also less than $1 apiece.

Sometimes these are painted or sprayed with glue and sprinkled with dirt and grass bits for camouflage
