Ode to Hockney, Floral Acrylic and oil pastel on linen 27x32 2025 The Hockney I am alluding to in this painting is: Contre-Jour in the French Style - Against the Day Dans le Style-Francais 1974, a bit of a different painting from most of his works but it’s one that always takes my breath away.

I have really been enjoying making these quick little paints in the odd hours over the last week! its something i used to do a lot, but i havent really painted digitally 'for fun' in a year or so, since i've been so busy making physical paintings with real paint.

Todays warm up painting, this is a house near me that I walk by a lot, it always gets that good good light and has such an LA vibe.

My work contract ended a few weeks ago and i've found myself with a bit more free time as of late, so i'm dipping my toe back in the water of doing some quick digital paintings as warms ups each morning. heres the first two. 🫣
