I find it fascinating that of all the ghosts, the one that took the longest to apply, at five hours, was The Angry Princess since she's basically a nude woman with cuts all over her body. #FFBMovieNight

Ryan Kuhn represents The Jackal. Born in 1887, he was a raging misogynist. He spent his life attacking & killing woman. Recognizing that he had a problem, he checked himself into an asylum. With no success to get better, he chose to die in a fire. #Thir13enGhosts #FFBMovieNight

George Markley represents The Hammer. He had been a good man, but found himself suspected of theft. He stood up for himself. As payback, the accusers killed his wife & kids. So Markley beat them to death. But then he was executed by the town. #Thir13enGhosts #FFBMovieNight

Margaret & Harold Shelburne represent The Great Child & The Dire Mother. Working at a sideshow attraction, she was protective of her son. But he never grew up. She was murdered by fellow carnival workers. Harold got revenge, but was executed too. #Thir13enGhosts #FFBMovieNight

Isabella Smith represents The Pilgrimess. This one is also based off real-life history. Smith moved to New England to start a new life. But she is accused of witchcraft when the livestock die. Tortured by the town, she died of pain & starvation. #Thir13enGhosts #FFBMovieNight

Dana Newman represents The Angry Princess. Another tragic story. She was considered to be extremely beautiful; however, she could never see it. She became obsessed with plastic surgery. One procedure failed, so she sliced herself up in her bathtub. #Thir13enGhosts #FFBMovieNight

Royce Clayton represents The Torn Prince. Born in 1940, he was a gifted baseball player & was favored to be picked by elite colleges, so he became arrogant. He was challenged to a drag race, but his rival cut is brake line. He died in a fatal crash. #Thir13enGhosts #FFBMovieNight

Jean Kriticos represents The Withered Lover. Her story is surrounded by tragedy. She is the loving wife of main character, Arthur. Due to a fireplace accident during the holidays, Jean was horribly burned. She died of her injuries at the hospital. #Thir13enGhosts #FFBMovieNight

Susan LeGrow represents The Bound Woman. She was the daughter of a wealthy family & a cheerleader at her school. She dated the captain of the football team. But on prom night, he caught her cheating. As payback, he broke her neck and buried her. #Thir13enGhosts #FFBMovieNight

Jimmy "The Gambler" Gambino represents The Torso. He is loosely based on the Cleveland Torso Murders. Gambino had a terrible gambling addiction, and one day he could not pay off his debts. As payback, mobster Vatelo cut Gambino into little pieces. #FFBMovieNight #Thir13enGhosts

Billy Michaels represents The First Born Son. Little Billy loved pretending to be a cowboy, but he could have a horrible temper. One day, he was challenged by the neighbor boy to a duel. It ended in the death of Billy with an arrow to the head. #Thir13enGhosts #FFBMovieNight

Another amazing element to #Thir13enGhosts is, you guessed it, the ghosts. Each one holds a special symbol to the plot. The only thing that this film didn't dive deeper into was all their back stories. They are told in the special features instead. #FFBMovieNight

The biggest challenge the crew had to deal with while filming #Thir13enGhosts, was the fact the house was all glass. Which meant the crew had to be careful to not be seen in the background of the sets. They had to be careful of reflections on the glass as well. #FFBMovieNight

If you ever go looking for the glass house to see it in real life, unfortunately that can never happen. The outside of the building is completely made of CGI. And the inside was built within a studio. It would make an interesting funhouse though. #FFBMovieNight #Thir13enGhosts

Of course one of the coolest things about #Thir13enGhosts is the setting. The mansion is completely made of glass, instead of it being the typical old house on a hill story. This one was neat and modernized. Has a steampunk feel to it too! #FFBMovieNight

I absolutely love that they got Rah Digga to play Maggie! Her sense of humor for this character is perfect, and she adds the right amount of lighthearted comedic relief to this movie. Maggie Bess: "Did the lawyer split?" #FFBMovieNight #Thir13enGhosts

Since #Thir13enGhosts did not do great with it's gross income at the box office, Dark Castle Entertainment changed its direction from making remakes. Their 3rd one would be their original film, Ghost Ship. P.S. They always loved splitting people in half. 😉 #FFBMovieNight

Unfortunately at the time, #Thir13enGhosts was not a box office success story. Which makes me sad, because I have always loved this film. It's still one of my top horror comfort movies. It is only recently gaining new popularity as a cult classic horror film. #FFBMovieNight

Even though #Thir13enGhosts was not made into a 3D film itself, the director, Steve Beck still wanted to keep that original idea about needing the glasses in order to see the ghosts. They were used as a cool tool to see the horrors in the film. #FFBMovieNight

What's fascinating about William Castle's version, is the fact that the audience had to use 3D glasses in order to see the ghosts in the black & white film. #Thir13enGhosts was almost made into a 3D film, but was dropped before going to theaters. #FFBMovieNight

#Thir13enGhosts is a remake of the 1960 film by William Castle. He had created the film based on his visit to the eye doctor. Using the phoropter, it gave him the idea of "what if glasses could allow you to see ghosts?" This film was based on that question. #FFBMovieNight
