A partial government shutdown looms—again? I'll say it once more: if we stopped paying Congress—and cut off their healthcare—during shutdowns, the shutdowns wouldn't happen.

I turned my phone off on Friday morning and had a glorious, technology-free weekend. It felt great. And I slept better, too. Times like this, I wish I could go back to my LAN line. I'd certainly get more writing done. I guess I'll turn the phone back on tomorrow. Maybe.

I just finished listening to my new novel and making a few hundred little changes to the third draft. I still have some minor details to iron out, but at 84,073 words, it's probably 96% complete. My deadline is Dec 31!

Two questions: Why are we paying Congress during a federal shutdown? How quickly would they iron things out, if they weren’t getting paid? If their fabulous health insurance had been revoked? I’ll tell you. There would be no government shutdowns. Not even for a day.

Fact. I'm from Minnesota, the state where Trump refused to acknowledge or extend condolences when my state rep was murdered. Trump's always been the snake in his story. Sad part is he has infected a full 1/3 of our nation's population with his hate, his lack of compassion or empathy, and his greed.
