Been in a bit of a creative slump these past 2 or so weeks - which can obviously only be rectified by dedicating every available second of free time to rotting in my apartment, surely that will inspire me!

This was quite fun to edit, even though I fucked up the audio layers and SFX timers more often than I care to admit. Either way it was good practice for the devlog, quest showcase and trailer I'm planning to make for WSS (I promise I'll talk about modding again once the book is out)

One old-timey set dressing technique that I will never grow tired of is to build inaccessible miniature exteriors outside of a level's playable area that can be viewed through the windows or similar openings. A little level design experiment: stacking the nearly unused arcade assets along the exterior of those boring-ass outer Vegas concrete blocks to make them look remotely suitable for human habitation. Seems almost like they were meant to be used this way

Close to wrapping up the script for yet another side quest for WSS, and it might be my favorite one in the mod so far due to the hostage negotiations segment at its end - skill checks galore, except there's a twist to them that'll make things a lot more tense and unpredictable.

Finally getting around to reading Moby Dick, and all the memes and famous snippets I've seen over the years could not possibly prepare me for how unbelievably gay it is (complimentary)

Right now I'm working on editing and finalizing the script for WSS's final two side quests, and though it's a lot of work, it's honestly quite an uplifting experience - I wrote a lot of that dialogue back in late 2023 - early 2024 & it's pretty apparent how much better my writing has gotten since.

Something of a running gag in 'Westside Story' is that I keep giving the player the option to bribe their way through quests, except the bribes are so high they end up significantly exceeding the quest reward if the player does it more than once. It's conceptually hilarious to me.
